What life goals have you yet to accomplish?
November 10th, 2009Have you set goals for yourself that you still wish to accomplish?
For me it is to paint in watercolor and this spring I will begin classes.
Anything that you still wish to do and is there a plan?
I have been lucky enough to achieve mine. When my late Sister lived 150 miles away when I was about12, my Mum and me used to visit her. There I read my Sister’s book called something like "Travels of a Capitalist Lackey", which was about some guy traveling in a Morris Minor to Russia when "Intourist" tracked you like a Hawk!
Around 15 years ago I did the trip with BA- Moscow, Leningrad ( as it was then), Trans Siberian Express/ Lake Baikal, Ballet, Circus- the lot!
It was very tiring for my poor Wife, but in hindsight it was the best time of my life, and there is no point on hoping for something to emulate it.
I trust and hope that one day I will buy a watercolour off you that portrays Liverpool FC with a Premier League Trophy in their hands!
Take care!

I have yet to complete the task that has been laid out for me by an unknown source of creation. I am awaiting my boarding pass & directional pointers. Until then…I search for a way to cope with the inconveniences of getting older & losing my former self.

This is not a lifelong goal or accomplishment. Three or four years ago I got the idea that I would like to kneel and pray in the same church in Germany where my Paternal Grandmother was christened. I know where that church is located and I even have a picture of the church.
Having been raised on a farm and having conservative and practical parents my goals were almost all attainable and those few that were not were impossible for reasons that cannot be overcome. Besides, I was born a Texan so what more could I want.

I’ve been around almost a quarter of a century, and I’ve done pretty well at accomplishing everything I set out to do, from adventure, to family and business. I supposed about the only thing left is my goal to live to 100 and be killed by a jealous husband

When the timing is right, I am going back to school to finish up my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Once that’s complete I will finish my bachelors in Social Work. Down the road I will make them both Masters Degrees.
I have a goal of becoming a trainer in the law enforcement field/department of corrections.
I have a goal to buy the home I am renting.
AND… I have the largest goal of all. Getting a new liver so I can keep living my life. God Bless

EDIT: I have noticed that not many people "Star" the question. Is it not rude that if you think the question is "intelligent" enough to answer, then you should acknowledge it as such? Pure manners.

I would like to get in better physical condition, learn to knit and since you mentioned it, water color classes sound like so much fun. A friend of mine has recently started drawing classes and cooking classes may be next for her. There is still much to be done if we look for it. I started going to the gym this morning. Step I.

Yes, Nick, one of my goals is to own a corgi. Everyone in my family has one except me. Another goal is to take a cruise around the world. If I can’t afford that, then I’d love to visit my family in their different parts of the country, California, Maine, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Colorado, and wherever they live. I have an old friend in the UK I’d like to visit too.
I am taking a watercolor class and I love it. You will enjoy it too. You learn about color and it’s so much fun to do the painting. Good luck with it. Enjoy!
I can teach Dora to knit!

I have rather well completed my original goals. I can think of just one, but it is none of your business.

I still have white water rafting, sailing up the inside passage to Alaska and seeing the ice bergs and white bears in the Queen Charlottes, driving across Canada, going up in a hot air balloon, publishing my book if I EVER get through editing it, sailing of course, thats always on the list, I would love to buy a sailboat, but now that I have been "allowed" into my new Grandsons life, I am rethinking that particular dream - same with moving to the Dominican Republic or Mexico or someplace without winters. How could I leave ?
Taking up wood carving, sculpture, is still on the list.
Short term for this summer, going to do my best to go camping again, go horse back riding again, sailing again, get out and do a LOT more and not be a slave to house renovations. Going to go swimming a lot more and with the price of gas low, going to make a few trips in my car, maybe local, maybe not
I am trying to get most of the small things done around the house now, the painting, etc. I figure I have 3 or 4 months to get most of it done. Putting up blinds and curtains is really hard on my back and shoulders though and so is painting. But I dont want to be doing it in the summer and not having any fun with my life. I’ve wasted too much of my life already on stuff that in the long run isnt as important as living it and doing things I enjoy doing.
Good question !! What is life without a dream?

I’ve always wanted to go to New England in the fall and stay at a bed-n-breakfast. I’d also like to see some of the National parks out west, ski Aspen, and visit Alaska.

I know this will seem odd, but to move home. I hope o accomplish this in the next 18 months or sooner.
I would have to agree learning more about the computer would be wonderful instead of pushing buttons and things get deleted.
I don’t see this happening but to start a animal rescue would be so fantastic,

Together my husband and I set goals 51 years ago.
Through the years we have had the satisfaction of crossing off every realistic goal we set.
Due to health and resources we have yet to cross off our unrealistic goals.
Our plan was to travel to Denmark - Ireland - Scotland - Wales - England - Tennessee - the lands of our ancestors. Then to Barcelona.
We have done the next best thing and have - both written the history of our ancestors and our personal history to leave as a legacy for our posterity.
We are content to sit back and and continue to be - armchair travelers watching the videos and documentaries of those lands.
We are doing out best in our twilight years to continue setting an example for our children - grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We have always lived a simple life to the best of our ability.
Life is good. I love life.
Hope everyone can reach their goals.
Very good question.
DeeJay.
