Super Cardio
February 8th, 2010
Chris Krueger demonstrates “Scottish 25’s” an excellent drill for cardio and anaerobic fitness. Scottish 25’s are a very popular drill for soccer teams all around the world.
TSCers, start with two cones 25 yards apart, you have to go down and back in 10 seconds and then recover for 10 seconds. Repeat this cycle for 4 minutes. As your fitness increases you should start moving the cones further apart.
Ladies, start with your cones 20 yards apart and move them progressively further apart. The idea is to push yourself and improve every time.

Classic Tabata-workout, exept you are taking it very very easy. You should SPRINT harder and harder every time, at the end you should collaps.

I’m making this a …
I’m making this a morning ritual.
just wondering tho, should this be done say 3-4 times a week? i was thinking about doing your 100-yard workout as well.
i’ve been really thinking about how i can get cut in about 3 months, just to get those abs to show. i’ve been taking note on my fitness level and i’m fairly ok (20+ variations of pullups and a LOT OF STAIRS among other things lol) just something to burn off more fat.
thanks Chris! =D

This is great for people like myself who have IT-Band tightness. Long term running is sometimes difficult, but these short bursts in wind-sprints are just the ticket.

Very true! I think …
Very true! I think its important for people who hate cardio, as much as I do, to have these “quick fix” methods. But I think it would be a great Idea for the TSCers to perhaps see you in your favourite sport and have you explain the benefits of how everyday hobies can benefit the cardio side of fitness. I love the weights and pride myself of improving my lifts every week (or fortnight) but when it comes to running, weather it be on a treadmill or on a track, its too boring.
Love your work!

This is good stuff, …
This is good stuff, we used to do this in the army when I served a few years ago and don’t know if they still do it. I personaly have not done this in a long time, I just do a quick 5 mile run these days. But I might start doing this routine again.
